The success of the 2019 Federal National Council (FNC) elections supports the vision of our wise leadership to empower UAE citizens to contribute to the decision-making process and actively participate in the country’s development. The conclusion of the fourth cycle of the elections that witnessed an unprecedented voter turnout nationwide brings us to a new stage of Tamkeen, the UAE’s political empowerment program announced by the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan in his 34th National Day speech in 2005.

I thank all Emiratis who have exercised their right to vote. This year, the polling stations welcomed 117,592 voters of the total 337,738 members of the electoral college, an increase of 48.6 percent over the last election. In comparison, the third election cycle in 2015 drew the participation of 79,157 voters from an electoral college of 224,281 members.

His Excellency Abdulrahman bin Mohamed Al Owais

Minister of Health and Prevention, Minister of State for Federal National Council (FNC) Affairs, and Chairman of the National Election Committee (NEC)
